I was recently invited to be a photographer for Travelife Japan Night that was held in Dusit Thani Hotel last Feb. 16. It was attended by many VIP guest including Former President Fidel V. Ramos, Senators Franklin Drilon and Ed Angara and other diplomats. This event serves as a marriage of culture between Japan and the Philippines. The highlight of the event was the performance from two Maiko (Apprentice Geishas) from Japan. The event was hosted by the publisher of Travelife Magazine Christine Cunanan and the Ambassador of Japan. The guest were served with delicious meals that was delicately planned months ahead of time, to show the traditional and uniqueness of Japanese cuisines. They were entertained by the performance from the Maikos. The event also showed us how to wear the kimono and delicate way of tieing the robe. After the that the Maiko went back on stage to give another set of performance for the guest. Indeed it was both a magical night for both cultures.
